A mumak calf, q, is a type of monster that appears in dNetHack, notdNetHack and notnotdNetHack. The mumak calf is a young form of mumak that shares almost all of the same traits as the monster does in the same variants, including being considered giants. Mumak calves are roughly on par with the mumakil of NetHack, to the point that the only primary differences are their somewhat smaller size and weaker attacks, along with their inability to tear through webs and destroy doors. All 10 of a mumak calf's AC points are in the natural category.
A mumak calf has a strong headbutt attack and a bite attack.
Generation
Randomly generated mumak calves are always created hostile. A mumak calf can grow up into a mumak.
Mumak calves are randomly generated on several floors of the Mordor Ruins Quest:
- 1⁄8 of randomly-generated monsters on the Forest Edge floor will be mumak calves.
- 1⁄20 of randomly-generated monsters on the Mordor Wall, Mordor Fortress, and the first Mordor Cracks floors will be mumak calves.
- 1⁄30 of randomly-generated monsters on the second floor of the Mordor Cracks will be mumak calves.
