Shocker is an artifact that appears in NetHack: The Next Generation and SlashTHEM. Its default alignment is neutral, and its base item is an electric sword.
Generation
Shocker is the first guaranteed sacrifice gift for the Geek (TNG) or Hacker (SlashTHEM), and any neutral hero can receive Shocker as a sacrifice gift.
In NetHack: The Next Generation, Shocker is one of the artifacts that can be requested from Duri at The Forge, with a base price of 2000 zm.
Description
Shocker has a +1d3 to-hit bonus and deals doubled shock damage against monsters without shock resistance. In SlashTHEM, this is converted to a +3 to-hit bonus, and as an artifact electric sword Shocker will not randomly deal +d3 shock damage to monsters.
Strategy
In SlashTHEM, Shocker's traits effectively make it a somewhat inferior version of Shock Brand: though its base item is superior, it does not grant shock resistance while wielded like the latter artifact does.
