A tecpatl is a type of dagger that appears in dNetHack, notdNetHack, and notnotdNetHack. It is a small piercing weapon that has the base-material of obsidian. It appears as a notched dagger when unidentified.
The Tecpatl of Huehueteotl, the chaotic Archeologist crowning gift, is an artifact bone tecpatl.
Generation
Tecpatl do not randomly generate.
Second-sun priests are generated with tecpatl.
The arrow rain monster spell has a base 1⁄33 chance of generating up to 16 uncursed +0 chakrams and firing them at the target. They will also have the excoriating object property applied to them if the spell is cast by the Suzerain or the Voice-In-Screams.
Description
At Skilled and Expert skill, tecpatl gain the quick, second, focus fire, and bleed expert traits.
A tecpatl that isn't made of obsidian or a similarly sharp material, such as copies made by smiths will lose 2 die faces from both its versus-small damage and its versus-large damage.
