A xorn monk, X, is a type of monster that appears in dNetHack and notdNetHack. They are a type of xorn that has the same claw and bite attacks as a regular xorn, but their claw attacks are stronger and they also possess a pair of kick attacks.

Generation

Xorn monks are primarily generated on several floors of the Monk quest at level creation: three are generated on the locate level, one is generated in each of the lower filler levels, and four are generated on the goal level.

Xorn monks will generate with a pair of boots, a pair of gloves, and a cloak, all sized to fit the monster and subject to the following generation odds:

• The cloak has a ¹⁄₅₀ chance of being a cloak of magic resistance, and will otherwise be a robe.
