A belt of weight is a type of magical belt that appears in dNetHack, notdNetHack and notnotdNetHack. It has a randomized appearance when unidentified, and its base material depends on that appearance—the default one associated with it is a "lumpy belt", which is made of lead.
Generation
The belt of weight makes up roughly 1⁄6 of all belts that are randomly generated.
Description
A hero that puts on a belt of weight will have their current inventory weight increased by 500 aum, somewhat similar to a loadstone: a primary difference is that a loadstone's weight is natural, whereas the belt only adds weight while worn. The belt cannot be enchanted by a scroll of enchant armor or similar magical effects.
