A potion of blood is a type of potion that appears in EvilHack. It always appears as a blood-red potion when unidentified, an appearance it shares with the potion of vampire blood.
Generation
Potions of blood are only randomly generated for a vampire hero, though they can also be wished for or found in bones by other heroes. For vampire heroes, potions of blood make up 1⁄50 of all potions randomly generated on the floor, in shops or as death drops.
Vampire heroes start each game with knowledge of the potion's appearance, and vampire heroes in roles that start with food rations or potions of sickness will have them replaced with potions of blood.
Vampires have a 1⁄2 chance of generating with a blood-red potion that has a 3⁄4 chance of being regular blood.
Mixing potions of blood with potions of fruit juice will turn the juice into blood.
Description
Quaffing the potion breaks vegetarian conduct and has different effects depending on its beatitude and if the hero is a vampire or not: a vampire that quaffs one will gain 200 nutrition for a blessed potion or 60 for an uncursed potion, while a cursed potion's contents will have congealed and give 0 nutrition, and a diluted potion gives half of the appropriate nutrition value. A hero that is not a vampire and quaffs a potion of blood of any beatitude will instead become nauseous for 10d8 (more) turns.
Dipping a unicorn horn into a potion of blood will turn it into an uncursed potion of water.
Being subjected to the vapors of a broken potion of blood abuses wisdom if the hero is a vampire, and abuses constitution otherwise.
