A potion of enlightenment is a type of potion that appears in NetHack.

Generation
The potion of enlightenment makes up 2% of randomly-generated potions.
Description
Quaffing a non-cursed exercises wisdom and provides enlightenment, allowing you to momentarily see your character's intrinsics and other attributes.[1] A blessed potion additionally increases intelligence and wisdom by 1.[2]
Quaffing a cursed potion abuses wisdom and prints a message with no other effect, prompting you to type-name the potion.[3]
Alchemy
Dipping to mix together a potion of confusion and either a potion of gain level or a potion of gain energy has a 3⁄10 chance of producing potions of enlightenment.
Mixing a potion of levitation with a potion of enlightenment has a 3⁄5 chance of producing a potion of gain level.
Strategy
Potions of enlightenment are sometimes worth blessing to increase your mental stats. Otherwise, they are frequently saved for alchemy once identified to use in creating potions of gain level.

The potion of enlightenment first appears in NetHack 3.0.0.

UnNetHack
In UnNetHack, there is a 3⁄5 chance of a potion of enlightenment generating in the boulder-blocked stash on the last floor of the Dragon Caves at level creation.

In Hack'EM, the last floor of The Wyrm Caves uses the last floor map from the Dragon Caves of UnNetHack, including the 3⁄5 chance of generating a potion of enlightenment in the stash.
