A tree blight, #, is a type of monster that appears in EvilHack. The tree blight is a carnivorous type of tree-like creature that is mindless and unbreathing. Tree blights are the fastest non-stationary monster of their class, though their 8 speed is still quite low—they are also slightly stronger than a standard ent, though they lack infravision and their attacks are less damaging.
A tree blight has a strong claw attack and a strong holding attack, and possesses poison resistance, sleep resistance, cold resistance, immunity to sickness, and a vulnerability to fire.
Generation
Randomly generated tree blights are always hostile.
A tree blight leaves behind a dead tree upon death unless it is killed in a corridor.
Encyclopedia entry
Blights are plants that have been tainted with evil, usually
after a forest was corrupted by an evil force. They typically
resemble dead versions of their original plants. The first
blights were spawned when the vampire Gulthias was stabbed with
a stake. The stake turned into a sapling which grew into a tree.
This tree released the seeds from which the first blights emerged.
