Floor, ., is the most common type of terrain in NetHack. It imposes no special restrictions on the player, allowing him or her to move freely. Floor is generated in rooms, and makes up the meat of these areas, perhaps with the exception of swamps, (where pools cover half the room) and some special levels. Corridors are similar to floors, but they are more often darkened, and never contain traps or dungeon features.
