The hill orc, o, is the weakest form of orc normally found in NetHack.
Generation
Hill orcs always appear in large groups which can pose a problem to those not prepared to deal with them. They frequently carry scimitars or orcish daggers and wear orcish helms.[1]
Strategy
Their numbers may be formidable, but they are easy to defeat individually. Try to find a way to ensure that only one of them can attack you at a time, perhaps by fighting in a corridor.
Hill orcs make a decent source of food for a starting character, providing 200 nutrition.
