The Bracers of the First Circle are the Druid quest artifact in EvilHack. They are the prize for completing the Druid quest, and their default alignment is neutral. The base item is a set of runed bracers that are made of the usual wood.
Generation
For Druids, the Bracers of the First Circle are always generated on the goal level of the Druid quest, where it is placed on the same square as Baba Yaga along with the Bell of Opening.
If the Bracers of the First Circle are wished for by a hero of another role, there is a 1⁄x chance (where x is the amount of previous artifact wishes) of it being created successfully—if successful, Elanee will generate as the hostile owner of the artifact, placed adjacent to the hero with the artifact in her possession.
Description
While carried, the Bracers of the First Circle grant telepathy. While worn, they grant stoning resistance and do not interfere with spellcasting—the hero also gains a 3-point bonus to AC, or 6 if they are a Druid. Invoking the Bracers of the First Circle subjects adjacent monsters to taming, similar to a blessed scroll of taming.
As a set of runed bracers, the Bracers of the First Circle allow twoweaponing and the use of two-handed weapons, do not reduce the to-hit of Monks, and do not suppress the extra attack of heroes that are at Grand Master skill in martial arts—in exchange, they gain lower AC bonuses from the hero's shield skill and do not enable shield bashing.
