Curse resistance

Curse resistance is a property that appears in dNetHack, notdNetHack and notnotdNetHack, and offers high protection against various forms of curses and similar effects.

Description

Curse resistance blocks the following curse effects:

• Mummy rot and any type of mummy curse
• The passive curse exhalation used by Baalphegor
• The curse items monster spell
• Curses from sitting on a throne

All sources of curse resistance are extrinsic and will either always block these effects if the item granting the property takes up an equipment slot, otherwise blocking these effects ¹⁹⁄₂₀ of the time (the same as Magicbane does while wielded in NetHack).

Sources

Curse resistance is granted extrinsically by the following methods:

• Putting on an amulet versus curses
• Carrying Helping Hand or else wielding it in the main hand or offhand
• Burning on a curse-proof glaze with any applicable suit of armor as a major boon from The Silver Flame

notdNetHack and notnotdNetHack add the following sources of curse resistance:

• Weeping willow tattoos, which block curses ¹⁄₂₀ of the time
• Wielding a spear with a green fluorite spearhead in the main hand or offhand
