A two-handed sword generated on the ground, in shops or as a death drop has a base 1⁄20 chance of being made into Deathsword assuming no artifacts have been generated.
Chaotic heroes can receive Deathsword as a sacrifice gift from their deity.
Description
Deathsword has +1d5 to-hit and +1d14 damage bonuses against cross-aligned monsters, with a 1⁄4 chance of inflicting paralysis against the target on each hit if they are not mindless.
History
Deathsword first appears in NetHack-- 3.1.3, where it is an artifact long sword—SLASH 6 changes its base item to a two-handed sword.
