Drow Healer quest
In dNetHack, notdNetHack and notnotdNetHack, the Drow Healer quest is much different from the role's standard quest, and pits a Drow Healer hero against Blibdoolpoolp, graven-into-flesh and her underlings, the Mad Grazi and Blibdoolpoolp's mindgraven champion, for the Bell of Opening and Esscooahlipboourrr.

Monsters
Random monsters on this Quest are set in role.c so that the duergar serves as the first quest monster, the kuo toa serves as the second quest monster, and the humanoid monster class acts as the quest's primary monster class. However, there are several other adjustments made to the code after this that result in monster generation occurring with the following frequency:
- 2⁄7 (~29%) random drow-related monster
- 2⁄7 (~29%) random quest monster
- 4⁄5 kuo toa
- 2⁄15 kuo toa whip
- 2⁄45 chuul
- 1⁄45 elder chuul
- 8⁄35 (~22%) random duergar
- 1⁄3 duergar
- 1⁄3 duergar stoneguard
- 1⁄3 duergar debilitator
- 2⁄35 (~6%) random h
- 1⁄7 (14%) normal random monster
After the quest is completed, monster generation is further adjusted to the following frequency:
- 16⁄35 (~45%) random duergar
- 1⁄3 duergar
- 1⁄3 duergar stoneguard
- 1⁄3 duergar debilitator
- 2⁄7 (~29%) random drow-related monster
- 2⁄35 (~6%) random h
- 4⁄105 (~4%) zombified mind flayer
- 2⁄105 (~2%) zombified master mind flayer
- 1⁄7 (14%) normal random monster
The "drow-related monsters" mentioned above are drawn from the following list, with the odds of selection being 1⁄48 unless otherwise specified:
- @ houseless drow (1⁄12 chance)
- C sprow (1⁄24 chance)
- C drider
- M drow mummy
- Z hedrow zombie

Plague victims
Victims of a plague that inflicts life draining can be encountered throughout the quest branch, as described in the quest's text: the kuo toa's collective hallucinatory powers are manifesting an avatar of their deity Blibdoolpoolp into reality, and that avatar is drawing an immense amount of life energy to stabilize. Plague victims are always generated as peaceful, and will be unable to move or attack due to their illness. The hero can cure plague victims either by casting the full healing spell or by applying the Staff of Aesculapius at them. Cured plague victims will become tame—a player should be mindful of the pet limit when healing plague victims in order to avoid un-taming any desired pets.
Each level has a number of plague victims scattered around the level at locations marked below, and they are usually resting atop beds or bedrolls.
Blibdoolpoolp
Similar to the Cyclops of the normal Healer quest, if Blibdoolpoolp is killed and she is carrying Esscooahlipboourrr or it has not yet been handled by the hero, she will drain the life of a plague victim on the level, including any trapped in sacks, and kill them in order to save herself. Curing the plague is thus also instrumental in ensuring Bilbdoolpoolp meets a permanent end without prolonging her life at her victims' expense—unlike the Cyclops, Blibdoolpoolp herself is not generated carrying the quest artifact, making it possible to grab it without killing her first.
Levels
The following level layouts are encountered in the Drow Healer quest, slightly deviating from normal quest layout rules. There will always be two "filler" levels between the home level and the "locate" level, each having its own distinct fixed layout. Below the locate level, the first and second "filler" levels also have distinct layouts, but as normal the second "filler" level may not be present in any given game.

The two-way magic portal back to the Dungeons of Doom is generated at a random point on the rightmost side of the map. The entire level is no-teleport, and has undiggable walls and floor.
Quest leaders
The true quest leader is Shuushar the Enlightened, who is accompanied by the (nominal) heads of the quest guardian faction: The paladin Sir Aljanor, and the senior drow healer Sister T'eirastra.
Sir Aljanor's square contains a box containing two random pieces of armor and a single random weapon. Sister T'eirastra's square contains a sack containing a random spellbook and two random scrolls. The player has most likely cured their character's blindness by this point, but all three of Sister T'eirastra's items are written in a tactile script, allowing them to be read while blind.
Poro aulon statue
This statue contains a set of blessed +1 silver eilistran armor, blessed +1 silver faceless helm, and four blessed +1 silver sabers. If revived via stone to flesh, the aulon will be healthy, able to immediately join the PC's party.
On the same square, there is a pile of gold, two random potions, and 4 random items. The four orthogonal squares each contain a pile of gold.
The room is "guarded" by three manes.
Matron-mother's treasure
This chest contains a cloak of magic resistance, a magic-resistant droven cloak, an amulet of life saving, a set of fixed droven plate mail, a fixed droven helm, a pair of high boots, a wand of striking, three scrolls of resistance, and over 8000 gold.
In addition, the chest contains the equipment of the four prisoners in the prison tower to the north.
There is a throne on the same square as the box.
Matron-mother's prisoners
The northern prison tower contains four (nominally) high-value prisoners who also suffer from the plague. Each prisoner may be a dwarf lord, dwarf cleric, dwarf queen, dwarf king, dwarf smith, deminymph, thriae, elf-lord, elf-lady, Elvenking, Elvenqueen, mithril smith, drow matron, barbarian, half-dragon, or valkyrie.
