Lolth's Fang is an artifact that appears in dNetHack, notdNetHack and notnotdNetHack. It is unaligned and favors Drow, and its base item is a droven short sword made of silvered chitin. It appears as a silver-edged droven short sword when unidentified.
Generation
Lolth's Fang cannot be randomly generated or wished for, though it can be found in bones.
Lolth's Fang is the crowning gift for neutral and chaotic hedrow heroes that worship the drow pantheon—lawful hedrow instead learn the seal of the Black Web spirit.
Description
Lolth's Fang is always poisoned. While wielded, Lolth's Fang grants drain resistance and has +1d10 to-hit and +1d10 acid damage bonuses against monsters without acid resistance, in addition to poison damage—it also adds stacking +1d8 damage bonuses against targets that qualify for each of the following:
- The target is non-chaotic.
- The target is not a drow.
- The target is not female.
- The target is not a primordial OR a Great Old One.
Additionally, wielding Lolth's Fang or carrying it in the offhand adds an extra die to sneak attacks, which enables the ability for non-Rogues and stacks with existing sneak attack dice; it also adds an additional extra die when performing sneak attacks against targets trapped in a web.
