Spidersilk is the alternate quest artifact for male drow Priests, Rangers, Rogues, and Wizards in dNetHack and notdNetHack. It is the prize for completing the Hedrow shared quest. It is unaligned, and its base item is a set of droven chain mail made of "spidersilk" cloth.

Generation

Spidersilk can only be obtained by characters of the aforementioned race and roles that return the initial quest artifact, Darkweaver's Cloak, to their quest leader Eclavdra.

Description

While worn, Spidersilk grants 3 base AC and 4 DR, with a +2 bonus to both status to make up for the lower protection versus standard droven chain mail. Wearing Spidersilk adds a sleep-inducing poison effect to the wearer's unarmed attacks, and grants double spell damage with ray and beam spells similar to The Magic Mirror of Merlin for Knights - it also prevents the wearer from being trapped in webs, which does not interfere with the AC bonus given by The Black Web Entity for being "trapped" in a web.
