In EvilHack and Hack'EM, Vlad the Impaler, V, is buffed significantly from his appearance in NetHack. He is a unique covetous vampire that guards the Candelabrum of Invocation and is an overlord to his kind. In EvilHack, while Vlad the Impaler is "alive", vampires cannot be selected for genocide.
Like his vampire brethren, Vlad the Impaler possesses the abilities of flight, unbreathing, and enhanced regeneration—he is similarly a shapeshifter that can take on the same fog cloud, wolf and vampire bat forms as vampire lords, although he will not shapeshift while carrying the Candelabrum of Invocation. Vlad the Impaler is covetous and capable of warping short distances, has heightened accuracy, can follow the hero to other levels, and desires the Candelabrum of Invocation.
Vlad the Impaler has a weapon attack, a life-draining bite and the ability to cast one mage monster spell during each of his turns, and possesses poison resistance and sleep resistance along with a weakness to silver, as well as drain resistance, death resistance, immunity to sickness, and a vulnerability to fire from being undead.
Vlad the Impaler is poisonous to consume in his base form, which primarily comes up if he is digested by another monster.
Generation
Vlad the Impaler is always generated hostile, and is not a valid genocide target or polymorph form.
Vlad the Impaler resides on a throne in the northeastern-most room at the top floor of his tower, which is situated within Gehennom.
Along with the Candelabrum, Vlad the Impaler is always generated with Lifestealer, which will always be cursed, erosion-proof and have an enchantment from +1 to +3
Vlad the Impaler never leaves a corpse when killed, and if killed by any method that ordinarily leaves a corpse, a message is printed about his body crumbling to dust.
