In dNetHack, notdNetHack, and notdNetHack, a spellcasting focus is an item that can decrease the hero's spellcasting failure rate wihle wielded.

Description

There are generally two types of spellcasting focus items:

  • "Mundane" focuses are based on specific items or item types, usually improve the success rate of spells from specific spell schools, and can include artifacts with matching base items.
  • Artifacts that usually improve the success rate of multiple spell types, but may also have more specific restrictions.
