A battle-bat, B, is a type of monster that appears in dNetHack, notdNetHack, and notnotdNetHack. The battle-bat is a medium-sized carnivorous bat that is capable of flight and can be seen via infravision. Like other bats, they have a tendency to wander while moving.

A battle-bat has a single bite attack.

Generation

Randomly generated battle-bats are always created hostile. Small groups of chiropterans have a ¹⁄₃ chance of being accompanied by a large group of battle-bats. A giant bat can grow up into a battle-bat, and a battle-bat can grow up into a warbat.

Battle-bats generated in the future (i.e. the Anachrononaut quest and Android quest) are zombified, and are always generated with plasteel armor.
