A heavy mace is a type of weapon that appears in EvilHack and Hack'EM. It is a one-handed weapon that uses the mace skill, and has a default object material of iron.
The heavy mace is the base item for the artifact weapon Demonbane, as well as Disrupter in Hack'EM.
Generation
Heavy maces make up 3⁄200 (1.5%) of all weapons randomly generated on the ground, in general shops or as death drops. Used armor dealerships and antique weapon outlets can also stock heavy maces.
Aligned clerics that are not drow have a 1⁄2 chance of generating with a heavy mace.
Angelic beings that generate with weapons have a 1⁄2 chance of generating with a heavy mace. For lawful angelic beings, if Demonbane is lawful (i.e. the hero is not a non-lawful Priest), their heavy mace has a chance of being made into Demonbane: this will always happen if the angelic being is a lord to their kind, and otherwise occurs with a 1⁄20 chance. If an angelic being or other monster would receive Demonbane when it already exists, it has a 1⁄10 chance of getting a heavy mace with an object property in its place. In either case, an angelic being receiving a heavy mace will always have it blessed, erodeproofed and enchanted from +0 to +3.
A heavy mace can be created at a forge by combining two maces.
