A baby cave lizard, :, is a type of monster that appears in dNetHack, notdNetHack and notnotdNetHack. The baby cave lizard is a carnivorous type of lizard that is amphibious and can swim. Their bodies have similar properties to ordinary lizards.
A baby cave lizard has a single bite attack, and possesses stoning resistance.
Eating a non-drained baby cave lizard corpse, eating a tin of its meat, or quaffing its blood (either via potion or vampiric feeding) immediately cures stoning and shortens the duration confusion and stunning to two turns. Baby cave lizard corpses do not become rotten from age and also protect against stoning, similar to a standard lizard corpse, though unlike those corpses they will eventually rot away.
Generation
Baby cave lizards are not randomly generated, and normally-created ones are always hostile. A baby cave lizard can grow up into a small cave lizard, and large cave lizard eggs can hatch into baby cave lizards.
Drow heroes that are not Healers or Nobles have a 1⁄3 chance of starting with a baby cave lizard as their default pet.
