Generation
Randomly-generated dwarf mummies are always hostile.
Dwarf mummies have a 6⁄7 chance of being generated with a mummy wrapping.[1]
Dwarf mummies may appear among the mummies that are part of the second quest monster class for Archeologists and make up 6⁄175 of the monsters that are randomly generated on the Archeologist quest.
A dwarf mummy leaves behind an aged dwarf corpse upon death.[2][3]
History
The dwarf mummy first appears in NetHack 3.3.0.
Variants
SLASH'EM
In SLASH'EM, gnomish and dwarvish characters will encounter hostile dwarf mummies in place of the normally peaceful dwarf lords that generate in the Gnomish Mines at level creation[4] - this does not occur in practice, since dwarf lords are never specified for generation when creating any of the Mines levels.
Dwarf mummies may appear among the mummies that are part of the first quest monster class for Undead Slayers and make up 24⁄175 of the monsters that are randomly generated on the Undead Slayer quest.
dNetHack
In dNetHack, dwarf mummies are stronger and can inflict mummy curses on whoever kills them.
xNetHack
In xNetHack, dwarf mummies can inflict withering with their melee attacks.
SpliceHack
In SpliceHack, dwarf mummies can inflict withering with their melee attacks.
EvilHack
In EvilHack, dwarf mummies can inflict withering with their melee attacks.

In addition to SLASH'EM details, dwarf mummies in Hack'EM can also inflict withering with their melee attacks as in EvilHack.
