A dwarvish bearded axe is a type of weapon that appears in EvilHack and Hack'EM. It is a one-handed weapon that uses the axe skill. Its base object material is iron, and it appears as a broad bearded axe when unidentified.
The dwarvish bearded axe is the base item for the artifact weapon Dramborleg.
Generation
Dwarven Knights and Valkyries that would start each game with a long sword instead receive a dwarvish bearded axe.
Live dwarves have an effective 1⁄20 chance of being generated with a dwarvish bearded axe. Dwarven lieutenants have a 1⁄2 chance of being generated with a dwarvish bearded axe; dwarven captains, watch captains, and prison guards have a 3⁄4 chance of being generated with a dwarvish bearded axe.
A dwarvish bearded axe can be created at a forge by combining an axe and a dwarvish short sword.
Description
While wielding a dwarvish bearded axe, you or a monster can apply the axe to disarm a target, similar to the bullwhip.
Strategy
The dwarvish bearded axe's damage output is comparable to that of a standard long sword - combined with its ability to disarm opponents, this makes it far superior to the standard axe at the 'cost' of 10 more aum before material adjustments. Bearded axes are a solid option for roles that are either restricted in the long sword skill or else seeking a bit more variance in their builds: melee roles such as the Barbarian that can reach Skilled or better in axes will appreciate a valuable early weapon. Bearded axes of light material such as mithril also make good twoweaponing candidates for the primary slot, as well as a solid off-hand weapon once you reach Basic level.
