An elven mace is a type of mace that appears in dNetHack, notnotdNetHack, and notnotdNetHack. It is a medium-sized blunt weapon that has a base-material of wood. It appears as a runed mace when unidentified.
The Rod of the Elvish Lords is an artifact elven mace, that can be re-shaped into various other elven weapons.
Generation
Elven maces do not randomly generate, but may be wished for.
A treesinger with access to a tree and a mithril smith with access to a forge are capable of creating an elven mace made of wood or mithril (respectively) for a paying hero, or free of charge if tamed.
Poltergeists created by rage-walkers have a 1⁄8 chance of being generated wielding a cursed iron elven mace that has a minimum enchantment of +3.
Elven maces have a base 1⁄28 chance of being generated inside Jrt Netjer hell vaults.
Description
At Skilled and Expert, elven maces gain the hew, stunning strike, penetrate armor, and bladedance expert traits.
All elven heros start the game with knowledge of the elven mace's identified appearance.
