Generation

All elven heroes other than Madpeople start the game with knowledge of the elven mace's identified appearance—elven and orcish Madpeople that open their quest box will regain their knowledge of of the elven mace's identified appearance.

Elven maces are not randomly generated, though they may be wished for or found in bones.

A treesinger with access to a tree and a mithril smith with access to a forge are each capable of smithing an elven mace (made of wood or mithril, respectively) for a hero that either pays a peaceful one to perform the service or requests the item from a tame one.

Each item inside a Jrt Netjer hell vault has a base 128 chance of being an elven mace.

Description

Elven maces inflict blunt damage, dealing 1d7+3 damage against small monsters and 1d7 against large monsters, and have a +2 to-hit bonus. A hero wielding an elven mace while they are at Skilled or better in maces gains the "hew"", "stunning strike", "penetrate armor", and "bladedance" expert traits.

In terms of monster weapon preference, monsters will prefer the elven mace to an elven spear, and will prefer an elven short sword or better to the elven mace.
