Plague is an artifact that appears in dNetHack, notdNetHack and notnotdNetHack. It is chaotic-aligned, and its base item is a bow made of bone.
Generation
Plague can be given as a sacrifice gift to a chaotic hero.
Description
While wielded, Plague grants poison resistance and sickness resistance, and any type of arrows fired from it gain +1d5 to-hit and +1d7 poison damage bonuses and are always treated as poisoned. Invoking Plague treats arrows fired from it as filth-encrusted for 13 turns: filth-encrusted arrows have a 1⁄5 chance of inflicting instant death upon hitting a target without sickness resistance, and a target killed this way produces a explosion whose radius depends on the physical size of the slain monster and deals 6d6 damage to monsters caught in it.
