A dark elven spear is a type of weapon that appears in EvilHack. It is a one-handed stackable weapon that can be used in melee and thrown, and uses the spear skill. It is made of adamantine, and appears as an etched spear when unidentified.
Generation
Drow heroes start the game with knowledge of the dark elven spear—any drow hero in a role that starts the game with spears will receive the same amount of dark elven spears, though there are no roles where this substitution occurs.
Dark elven spears make up 1⁄200 (0.5%) of all weapons randomly generated on the ground, in general shops or as death drops. Used armor dealerships and antique weapon outlets can also stock dark elven spears.
Drow soldiers and watchmen have a 1⁄3 chance of being generated with a dark elven spear, while driders have an effective 1⁄2 chance of generating with a dark elven spear. Other non-undead drow have an effective 1⁄8 chance of generating with both a dark elven spear and an accompanying set of dark elven bracers, with the exception of drow mages and drow clerics.
A dark elven spear can be created at a forge by combining 2 dark elven arrows and a dark elven dagger while the forge is darkened.
