A soldier mummy, M, is a type of monster that appears in dNetHack, notdNetHack and notnotdNetHack. The soldier mummy is a fairly strong type of human mummy that has infravision.

A soldier mummy has a weapon attack and an offhand weapon attack, and has a passive attack on death that inflicts mummy curses: a hero subjected to their dying curse can lose 1-7 points of luck, have their items cursed, or have their current HP halved and end up screaming for 2 (more) turns. Like other mummies, soldier mummies possess cold resistance, sleep resistance, poison resistance, drain resistance, and death resistance.

A soldier mummy is poisonous to consume, which primarily comes up when it is digested by another monster.

Generation

Randomly-generated soldier mummies are always generated hostile.

A soldier mummy is generated with a waistcloth, a wooden tower shield, and a weapon that has a 910 chance of being a spear and will otherwise be a khopesh.

A soldier mummy does not leave a corpse upon death.

Encyclopedia entry

But for an account of the manner in which the body was
bandaged, and a list of the unguents and other materials
employed in the process, and the words of power which were
spoken as each bandage was laid in its place, we must have
recourse to a very interesting papyrus which has been edited
and translated by M. Maspero under the title of Le Rituel de
l'Embaumement. ...
Everything that could be done to preserve the body was now
done, and every member of it was, by means of the words of
power which changed perishable substances into imperishable,
protected to all eternity; when the final covering of purple
or white linen had been fastened upon it, the body was ready
for the tomb.
