Vicar Amalia:
| |
Vicar Amalia, @, is the Undead Hunter quest leader in dNetHack, notdNetHack, and notnotdNetHack. She is a medium-sized human. She has the "humanoid" body shape and can wear all types of armor suited to this body shape.
Vicar Amalia has one strong weapon attack and a kick attack that may leave a character stunned for 2–18 turns. Eating her corpse does not confer any resistances and counts as cannibalism for human and incantifier Undead Hunters.

She is generated with a set of highly enchanted armor and weapon:

- blessed white-colored +5 high boots
Description
Below this point, there are major spoilers for the Undead Hunter quest.
They can be accessed by selecting the "Quest spoiler" tab.
Vicar Wolf
Once 38,000 turns have passed since the start of the game, Vicar Amalia—much like the other inhabitants of the quest—will suddenly undergo a transformation, turning into the Vicar Wolf. Any Undead Hunter that hadn't been admitted entrance prior to her turning will now be free to enter their quest. Vicar Amalia's turning, however, constitutes "failing" the quest, with the plague running rampant in the city.
Undead Hunters who wish to obtain Vicar Amalia's blade of mercy may wish to wait until she succumbs to the plague. Once transformed, killing her will not count as murder and will incur no alignment record penalty. However, as long as her corpse is preserved, she will still turn later on after being revived and may be killed to gain entry to the quest.

Origin
In the 2015 videogame Bloodborne, Vicar Amelia is an early game boss that must be fought, advancing the time of day. She can be encountered praying near Laurence's skull in the Grand Cathedral, as her encyclopedia entry quotes: "Seek the old blood. Let us pray... let us wish... to partake in communion. Let us partake in communion... and feast upon the old blood. Our thirst for blood satiates us, soothes our fears. Seek the old blood... but beware the frailty of men. Their wills are weak, minds young. [...]" Similarly to her interpretation in dNetHack, Vicar Amelia can still use her clerical powers even after her beastly transformation, allowing her to heal herself during the boss fight. Upon defeat she will leave behind her Gold Pendent, whose description reads: "[...] This pendant, passed down among the vicars who head the Healing Church, is a reminder of the cautionary adage [...]". In dNetHack's Undead Hunter quest the hero instead follows a story very distinct from Bloodborne's, and is under direct tutelage from Vicar Amalia's to find a cure for a spreading infection.
