Baphomet is a demon lord that appears within Gehennom in dNetHack, EvilHack, SpliceHack-Rewrite, and Hack'EM, with his role differing depending on the variant.

Generation
Baphomet is one of the five demon lords whose lair can appear as the first level of the Abyss. On generation of Baphomet's level, he is placed within one of the two spectator booths at the northernmost or southernmost ends of the arena structure if he has not already appeared in a game.
Baphomet can be gated in by other major demons and demon rulers, with some specific rules pertaining to him:
- The first demon lord Pale Night gates in will always be Baphomet if he has not yet appeared.
- Yeenoghu is a rival demon lord, and so will never gate in Baphomet (though the pair do not grudge each other).
Baphomet will always be generated with three scrolls of magic mapping and Heartcleaver, a chaotic and intelligent artifact weapon whose base item is a halberd - it can be used in melee combat, and grants its wielder +1 to-hit and double damage.
Details
Baphomet has four attacks: a 3d10 headbutt, a 3d8 bearhug, a 3d6 weapon attack, and acidic breath that can deal 5d12 damage.
Like most demon rulers, Baphomet is capable of gating in other demons and demon rulers: the first demon lord Baphomet gates in will always be Pale Night if it has not yet appeared, and he will never gate in Yeenoghu.
Seeing Baphomet directly will permanently inflict the rage madness upon you, reducing your AC and spellcasting rates while increasing the damage you deal.
Strategy
Baphomet is a melee specialist, but isn't particularly threatening to an ascension-ready character. Depending on his location in the arena relative to the stairs (which have six possible locations), he can difficult to avoid for those trying to slip past without a fight; his level will also be full of his servant minotaurs and minotaur priestesses, and Baphomet himself also counts as a minotaur.
It may be possible depending on the layout to dig out a path that allows you to get the jump on Baphomet, then read a non-cursed scroll of earth before he can warp to your position.| & Baphomet

Baphomet will always generate with a bardiche that has the venom object property.
