A drow raider, @, is a type of monster that appears in EvilHack. The drow raider is a type of drow that is roughly equivalent to the Green-elf, Grey-elf and Woodland-elf. Drow raiders are accurate, have ultravision, can see invisible, and will pick up weapons and other items that they come across.
A drow raider has a single weapon attack, possesses sleep resistance and poison resistance and takes extra damage from iron.
Eating a drow raider corpse or tin grants 2⁄25 (+8%) additional sleep resistance.
Generation
Randomly generated drow raiders may be created in small groups. Drow raiders may generate as peaceful towards drow heroes, and are always hostile towards non-drow elves and orcs, including heroes of those races. A drow raider can grow up into a drow warrior.
Drow raiders have a 1⁄7 chance of generating riding a giant spider.
Drow raiders typically generate with dark elven items: They have a 1⁄2 chance of generating with either a dark elven helm or dark elven cloak with equal probability, an independent 1⁄2 chance of generating with either a dark elven tunic (4⁄5 chance) or dark elven chain mail (1⁄5 chance), an independent 1⁄3 chance of generating with either dark elven boots or dark elven gloves with equal probability, and an independent 1⁄2 chance of generating with a dark elven dagger.
In addition, drow raiders have a chance of generating with one of the following item sets, with an equal probability for each set:
- a dark elven bow and 3–14 dark elven arrows, a 1⁄4 chance of dark elven bracers, and a 2⁄3 of a dark elven short sword
- a dark elven hand crossbow and 3–14 dark elven crossbow bolts, a 1⁄4 chance of dark elven bracers, and a 2⁄3 of a dark elven short sword
- a 1⁄2 chance of dark elven bracers and either a dark elven long sword (1⁄4 chance) or a dark elven broadsword (3⁄4 chance)
- a 1⁄2 chance of both a dark elven spear and an accompanying set of dark elven bracers
All drow weapons generated in a drow raider's initial inventory have a 1⁄3 chance of being coated in drow poison.
