A dark elven short sword is a type of weapon that appears in EvilHack. It is a one-handed weapon that uses the short sword skill. It is made of adamantine, and appears as an etched short sword when unidentified.
Generation
Drow characters start the game with knowledge of the dark elven short sword. Drow Rogues start the game with a +0 dark elven short sword.
Drow soldiers and watchmen have a 1⁄3 chance of generating with a dark elven short sword, while drow sergeants have a 1⁄2 chance of generating with a dark elven short sword. Other non-undead drow have an effective 1⁄3 chance of generating with a dark elven short sword, with the exception of drow mages and drow clerics.
A dark elven short sword can be created at a forge by combining a dark elven dagger and 2 dark elven crossbow bolts while the forge is darkened.
Description
Dark elven short swords can be used at a forge to create a couple of items:
- A dark elven short sword can be combined with a dark elven dagger while the forge is darkened to create a dark elven broadsword.
- 2 dark elven short swords can be combined while the forge is darkened to create a dark elven long sword.
