A drow zombie, Z, is a type of monster that appears in SlashTHEM. It is a zombified elf that corresponds to the living drow monster, and behaves the same as other zombies of living monsters do in most aspects: drow zombies are unbreathing, mindless, have infravision, and will follow a hero to other levels if they are adjacent.

A drow zombie has a claw attack that can put targets to sleep. Drow zombies possess cold resistance, sleep resistance, poison resistance, drain resistance, and death resistance like most undead.

Generation

Drow zombies are always generated hostile.

Digging up a grave has a chance of generating a drow zombie.

Drow zombies appear among the random Z that are part of the first quest monster class for Priests and make up ²⁴⁄₁₇₅ of the monsters randomly generated on the Priest quest. They also appear among the random Z that are part of the first quest monster class for Paladins and make up ²⁴⁄₁₇₅ of the monsters randomly generated on the Paladin quest. Additionally, they appear among the random Z that are part of the second quest monster class for Corsairs and make up ⁶⁄₁₇₅ of the monsters randomly generated on the Corsair quest.

Drow heroes that die and leave bones where they arise from the dead will resurrect as drow zombies, depending on their killer.

Drow zombies leave behind an aged drow corpse upon death. Zapping a wand of undead turning or casting the turn undead spell at a corpse left by a drow zombie will revive it as a drow zombie.
