A twig blight, {, is a type of monster that appears in EvilHack. The twig blight is a carnivorous plant-like blight made of wood that waits for the hero to come close enough before moving to attack. As a blight, it has a mutual grudge with true ents.
Twig blights have two claw attacks and possess poison resistance, sleep resistance, cold resistance, drain resistance, immunity to sickness, and a vulnerability to fire, with a 1⁄10 chance of fire damage causing instant death by burning it up completely.
Generation
Randomly generated twig blights are always hostile, and may be generated in small groups of 2-4. They cannot be randomly generated in Gehennom. A twig blight can grow up into a needle blight.
Twig blights are often generated in forests.
Twig blights appear among the { that are part of the second quest monster class for Druids and make up 6⁄175 of randomly generated monsters on the Druid quest. In addition to the ones generated in forest areas, two twig blights are generated at level creation on each floor of the quest branch above the goal level.
A Gulthias tree has a 5⁄6 chance of generating a twig blight when it occasionally spreads its influence.
A twig blight does not leave a corpse upon death.
Encyclopedia entry
Blights are plants that have been tainted with evil, usually
after a forest was corrupted by an evil force. They typically
resemble dead versions of their original plants. The first
blights were spawned when the vampire Gulthias was stabbed with
a stake. The stake turned into a sapling which grew into a tree.
This tree released the seeds from which the first blights emerged.
