Vibroblades are not randomly generated and cannot be wished for by a hero that isn't a Tourist, though they may still be found in bones.

7 uncursed +0 vibroblades are generated in the top left storage room inside the bastion on the Anachrononaut home level. The Android quest home level will only have 1 guaranteed uncursed +0 vibroblade be generated instead, with a 12 chance of another being generated.

2 vibroblades are generated in the Anachrononaut quest and Android quest locate levels.

2 vibroblades are generated in the Anachrononaut quest and Android quest goal levels, which may be embedded in the walls.

Wreckage item piles created in the The Paths of Law have a 45 (80%) chance of being a "clockwork horror" wreckage, which will include a silver vibroblade.

Several types of hero can start with a vibroblade.

Several monsters that are encountered in the future can be generated with a vibroblade.

  • Parasitized knights have a 18 chance of being generated with a vibroblade with an enchantment ranging from +3 to +7.
  • Myrkalfar warriors are always generated with a vibroblade with an enchantment ranging from +3 to +5, and with 55 to 100 remaining charges. The vibroblade will already have been recharged 3 to 5 times.
  • Troopers have a 2740 (67.5%) chance of being generated with a vibroblade with an enchantment ranging from +3 to +5, and with 55 to 100 remaining charges. The vibroblade will already have been recharged 2 to 3 times.
  • Parasitized gynoids have a 13 chance of being generated with a vibroblade, distributed among three distinct item kits.

  • Commanders, although they do not randomly generate, would always be created with a holy small +3 silver vibroblade, with 82 to 100 charges remaining—the holy object property will only be shown if the weapon is generated blessed.

Two other monsters generate with vibroblades.

Description

Vibroblades inflict piercing damage and have a +0 to-hit bonus. When uncharged, they deal 1d6 damage against small monsters and 1d8 against large monsters. If the vibroblade is charged, it instead deals 2d6+3 against small monsters and 2d8+4 against large monsters. A vibroblade of larger or smaller size has its base damage dice similarly modified, always gaining an additional damage dice, and half a dice as bonus damage when charged. A hero wielding a vibroblade while they are at Skilled or better in short sword gains the "focus fire" and "create opening" expert traits.

A vibroblade is normally generated with 80 to 99 charges unless otherwise specified, and can be recharged any number of times. Recharging a vibroblade has different effects based on the beutitude of the charging source: blessed charging sets charges to 100, cursed charging sets charges to 10 and uncursed charging sets the charges to a number between 80 and 99.

In terms of monster weapon preference, monsters will prefer the vibroblade to a rod of force, and will prefer a ball or better to the vibroblade.
