The Mad Grazi, h, is a unique monster that appears in dNetHack, notdNetHack and notnotdNetHack. The Mad Grazi is an omnivorous humanoid illithid that is part of the Y-cult: he is a primordial demihuman that is capable of flight, has telepathy, R'lyehian vision and darkvision, can see invisible, can be seen via infravision, and will pick up gold, gems and other items that he comes across. Seeing the Mad Grazi can affect the hero's sanity and raise their insight. The Mad Grazi can turn traitor while tame.
The Mad Grazi has a weapon attack, an intelligence-draining tentacle attack and the ability to cast one mage monster spell during each of his turns, and boasts basic prowess in martial combat. He possesses poison resistance.
The Mad Grazi can be warded by the Elder Sign.
Generation
The Mad Grazi is always generated hostile. He is not a valid polymorph form, and cannot be wished for in statue or figurine form.
The Mad Grazi is always generated on the Drow Healer quest goal level, where he is placed on the northwest square adjacent to Blibdoolpoolp, graven-into-flesh at level creation.
The Mad Grazi is always generated with a quarterstaff, a cloak, a pair of high boots, a leather helm, a glass trephination kit, and a crystal skull containing the spirit of Blibdoolpoolp's mindgraven champion, a monster that has the Drow Healer quest artifact Esscooahlipboourrr in her possession.
