描述
与长柄武器一样,骑枪也可以通过按a使用来猛击2格距离的敌人。但如果角色的骑枪技能等级为基础或更低,会遭受命中惩罚。提升技能等级会增加攻击范围。请参阅猛击条目来了解攻击范围的具体机制。
角色处于骑乘状态时,其可以用骑枪攻击相邻的怪物,但若不处于骑乘状态,用骑枪攻击相邻怪物只会造成1d2伤害,且该伤害不受任何加成影响。
骑枪刺
若玩家在骑乘时以骑枪攻击相邻的怪物,其有一定概率(概率同技能等级有关)对怪物发动骑枪刺(joust)[4]:
- 攻击造成额外的2d10伤害(如果骑枪持握在副手,则额外伤害为2d2)。
- 目标怪物本回合无法行动。
- 目标怪物会被眩晕。

策略
骑枪非常重(是游戏里除了铁球外最重的武器),而且基础伤害不高。如果你想用猛推攻击,其他长柄武器都是不错的选择。但是骑枪刺能够大幅增加骑枪造成的伤害,只要能够利用,骑枪就能够成为游戏里伤害最高,值得一用的非神器武器。
由于骑枪很难获取,如果你的骑枪用坏了,要找第二把就会比较麻烦。正数幸运值会大幅降低骑枪毁坏的概率。如果你的幸运值为0或更低,使用骑枪时最好只用猛推的方式攻击,敌人接近时就后退或切换武器。
兵营是最有可能获取骑枪的地方。城堡和吕底人堡垒都会生成兵营。
使用骑枪时推荐随身携带光源,方便在黑暗的区域使用猛推攻击。
一种高效的骑枪刺战术是让怪物进入到猛推攻击的距离,然后用猛推攻击敌人直到它靠近,再用常规方式攻击它。技能等级足够高时,骑枪刺有大概率发动,怪物就会被击退一格,然后你可以再次用猛推继续攻击。如此循环即可在怪物难以近身攻击的前提下击杀怪物。如果玩家速度够快,还可以在对付有远程攻击能力的怪物时,和怪物保持一个“跳马”的距离,这样几乎可以完全避免被怪物反击。
低等级的骑士在开阔地带作战时,可以通过自带的跳跃能力和怪物保持距离并用骑枪猛推攻击怪物,且避免被怪物反击。

In SLASH'EM, the range of pounding is also unrestricted, and lances can hit any square that is two squares away from the wielder.

SporkHack
SporkHack changes the additional jousting damage for lances from 2d10 to 2d(5 + XL⁄3).
dNetHack
In dNetHack, notdNetHack and notnotdNetHack, the lance's weight is reduced to 80 aum, and both variants add the elven lance, droven lance, white vibrospear, gold-bladed vibrospear, and force pike as weapons that use the lance skill.
Berith is a spirit that grants skill in lances while bound.
Iron golems may be generated with a lance.
There are several artifact lances:
- Dragonlance is an unaligned artifact that is made of dragontooth. It has +1d10 to-hit and deals +1d20 bonus damage against dragons and reptilians, with a 1⁄10 chance of canceling those monsters on hit, subject to their MR score. While wielded, Dragonlance confers warning of dragons and reptilians, and grants vanilla-strength reflection.
- Rhongomyniad is a lawful artifact that favors Knights and is the first sacrifice gift for Knights. It has +1d3 to-hit and double damage versus all monsters, and if gifted to a character, it unrestricts the riding, martial arts and lance skills and comes with a saddle.
- The Lance of Uriel is a lawful intelligent artifact that is large and made of silver. It has +1d7 to-hit and +1d10 damage versus all monsters, and while wielded it grants automatic searching and blindness resistance, and acts as a light source; targets that it strikes may be blinded, gremlins are reduced to dust, and trolls are petrified.
- The Rod of Lordly Might, The Rod of the Elvish Lords and The Sceptre of Lolth can be invoked to take on the form of an appropriate lance.
FIQHack
In FIQHack, Dragonbane has its base item changed from a broadsword to a lance. Dragonbane is the first sacrifice gift for Knights, and deals +1d20 against dragons - it also confers reflection while wielded, as in NetHack. Dragonbane has half the weight of a regular lance at 90 aum, and being gifted Dragonbane unrestricts riding and provides a free saddle.
SpliceHack
In SpliceHack, Bradamante's Fury is a neutral artifact lance that has +1d5 to-hit and +1d10 damage bonuses versus all monsters. It has a 1⁄10 chance of stunning a monster on each hit, and instantly dismounts any mounted monsters it hits and stuns them.
EvilHack
In EvilHack, a lance can be created at a forge by combining a glaive and a javelin.
The ability to forge lances of a desired (usually lighter) material and/or object property makes them much more attractive propositions for most EvilHack characters compared to vanilla NetHack.
Hack'EM
Hack'EM adds Bradamante's Fury from SpliceHack, improving the damage bonus to +1d12 and changing its alignment to lawful to match the source material. Forging recipes are the same as in EvilHack.
