Doctor Archer:
| |
Doctor Archer, @, is the Madperson quest nemesis in dNetHack, notdNetHack, and notnotdNetHack. He is a human that guards the Bell of Opening and the path to the Madperson's quest artifact, The Star of Hypernotus—upon recovering their quest artifact, however, a Madperson will discover a new primary threat to their well-being.
Doctor Archer is a strong human that will pick up magical items and other objects he comes across, can be seen via infravision, and will wait for the hero to approach, in addition to other standard quest nemesis traits. He is covetous and capable of warping, and desires the hero's quest artifact. Doctor Archer has all 10 points of AC in the 'special' category, and has 10 points of natural damage reduction.
Doctor Archer has a sleep-inducing touch attack, a weapon attack, an offhand weapon attack, and a claw attack that can steal the quest artifact if the hero somehow obtains it without killing him. He possesses fire resistance and stoning resistance.
Generation
Doctor Archer is always created hostile, and is not a valid polymorph form or genocide target.
For Madpeople, Doctor Archer is always generated meditating on the center square within the eastern room of the Madman quest goal level at level creation, with the Bell of Opening in his possession.
Doctor Archer is always generated with a +7 filth-encrusted silver scalpel, a +5 filth-encrusted iron scalpel, a yellow healer uniform, a yellow cloak of magic resistance, and a pair of yellow low boots.
