Quest artifact theft is a damage type that occurs in dNetHack, notdNetHack and notnotdNetHack, and uses the AD_SQUE damage type flag.
Description
An attack with the quest artifact theft damage type functions as the Amulet theft damage type does in vanilla NetHack: it deals physical damage to a a hero or monster, and against a hero it also has a 1⁄20 chance of stealing any of the following: the quest artifact of the hero's role or race, the Bell of Opening (or a bell), the Book of the Dead, the Candelabrum of Invocation, or the Amulet of Yendor (or a cheap plastic imitation thereof).
The following monsters possess attacks that use the quest artifact theft damage type, and are primarily either quest nemeses or related to a quest nemesis in some manner:
