A hedrow blademaster:
|
A hedrow blademaster, @, is a type of monster that appears in dNetHack, notdNetHack and notnotdNetHack. The hedrow blademaster is a type of male humanoid drow that is a much stronger counterpart to the hedrow wizard and hedrow warrior: he can reach level 30, is strong, possesses darkvision, can be seen via infravision, and can pick up weapons, food and other items that he comes across. Hedrow blademasters may turn traitor while tame.
Hedrow blademasters have two weapon attacks and the ability to cast one mage monster spell during each of their turns. Hedrow blademasters have expert prowess in martial combat and a full base attack bonus of +1 to-hit per level, and possess sleep resistance along with a weakness to iron.
Eating a hedrow blademaster corpse or tin, or quaffing his blood, grants temporary sleep resistance for a duration of 5,250 turns before physical size modifiers.
Generation
Randomly generated hedrow blademasters are often created hostile. They are not a valid polymorph form.
A temple to Ghaunadaur outside of the Astral Plane has a 1⁄2 chance of generating a peaceful hedrow blademaster minion as the priest tending to the altar.
Hedrow blademasters can appear in the court of a throne room ruled by an embraced drowess or an orc of the ages of stars.
Hedrow blademasters can appear as prisoners in throne rooms, including those ruled by an ogre king or an orc of the ages of stars.
A hedrow blademaster is always generated with droven plate mail bearing the emblem of their house, a black signet ring bearing the emblem of their house, a droven cloak, a droven helm, a pair of shadowsteel gauntlets, a pair of shadowsteel armored boots, a droven dagger, and a +4 droven greatsword that has a 3⁄4 chance of being drug-coated and will otherwise be envenomed.
