Embraced drowess

An embraced drowess, @, is a type of monster that appears in dNetHack, notdNetHack and notnotdNetHack. The embraced drowess is a female drow (possibly a drow matron) that is hijacked by the Black Web entity: she is lawful, considered to lack hands or limbs, and is completely stationary, though she is also flagged to pick up weapons, food and other items that she comes across. An embraced drowess is strong, can be seen via infravision, and is an overlord to drowkind.

Embraced drowesses have 6 points of AC in the 'protection' category. Seeing an embraced drowess will lower the hero's sanity and raise their insight. Tame embraced drowesses can turn traitor.

An embraced drowess has the ability to cast one clerical monster spell during each of her turns without any cooldown, and a passive attack that traps the attacker in webbing. Embraced drowesses possess sleep resistance and a weakness to iron and silver.

Eating an embraced drowess corpse or tin, or quaffing her blood, grants temporary sleep resistance for a duration of 7,000 turns before physical size modifiers.

Chatting to an embraced drowess will print one of ten possible responses, all of which make clear that she is attacking and acting against her will.

Generation

Embraced drowesses are not randomly generated, and normally-created ones are often hostile. They are not a valid polymorph form.

Embraced drowesses may accompany the groups of monsters generated alongside a randomly-created dokkalfar eternal matriarch in the future (i.e. the Anachrononaut quest and Android quest).

An embraced drowess can appear as the ruler of a randomly-generated throne room—their court can contain drow alienists, hedrow blademasters, edderkops, hedrow wizards, hedrow warriors, and drow mummies. The prisoners within her throne room may be any of the following monsters:
