The parasitized embraced alider, C, is a unique monster that appears in dNetHack, notdNetHack and notnotdNetHack. She is a large centaur-like humanoid being that is the result of an alider from the Anachrononaut quest being overtaken by a parasitic master mind flayer, while being rendered stationary and unable to use her limbs or hands by the influence of the Great Web. Only Androids will encounter this specific alider in her captive state.
The parasitized embraced alider is a hybrid of arachnid, elf, demihuman, minion, and primordial, with the lattermost trait inherited from the parasite controlling her, and is an overlord to her kind. Seeing the parasitized embraced alider will raise a hero's insight (although all Androids start the game with the veil lifted), and she cannot be made tame. The parasitized embraced alider is strong, has darksight and telepathy, is capable of tracking the hero via sight and scent, and can be seen via infravision—she is also capable of picking up magical items and other objects, but will not do so normally due to being stationary. She has 18 points of AC and 8 points of natural DR in the special categories.
The parasitized embraced alider has two intelligence-draining attacks that can reach targets within a certain radius of her, a tentacle attack that also inflicts intelligence drain, the ability to cast one clerical monster spell with no cooldown during each of her turns, and a passive attack that ensnares the attacker in webbing. She has expert prowess in martial combat and a full base attack bonus of +1 to-hit per level. The parasitized embraced alider possesses sleep resistance, poison resistance, fire resistance, cold resistance, disintegration resistance, and shock resistance, and has weaknesses to holy and unholy damage as well as silver and iron.
Consuming the parasitized embraced alider grants permanent sleep resistance, which primarily comes up if she is subjected to Ahazu.
The parasitized embraced alider can be warded by a fully-reinforced Elder Sign or a sevenfold Elder Elemental Eye.
Generation
The parasitized embraced alider is always generated hostile. She is not a valid polymorph form, and figurines or statues of her cannot be generated or wished for.
The parasitized embraced alider is generated on the Android quest home level, where she is placed in the former entrance of the Last Bastion base during level creation.
The parasitized embraced alider will always leave behind a special death drop consisting of an alider corpse, a parasitic master mind flayer corpse, and a large droven cloak. Reviving this alider corpse on its own will produce a tame alider that is loyal, crazed and doubt-filled, with the Great Web template applied and the minimum possible total HP value for her level.
