- Press m, then press a direction to move your character without doing any other actions such as attacking a monster or displacing a pet. Even if autopickup is on, using m causes you not to pick up anything. It will also stop you hitting invisible or remembered monsters, and will even stop you feeling items on the floor if blind, such as a cockatrice corpse.
- Press m, to pick up items off the floor using a menu, even if you're using menustyle:traditional.
