- z represents a zruty, which is a monster class consisting only of the titular zruty.
- Z represents a zombie:
- Z kobold zombie
- Z gnome zombie
- Z orc zombie
- Z dwarf zombie
- Z elf zombie
- Z human zombie
- Z ettin zombie
- Z giant zombie
- Z ghoul
- Z skeleton
- Press z to zap a wand.
- Press shift + z to zap a spell that you have learned.
- press ctrl + z to suspend NetHack if applicable - see ^Z for more details.
Variants
SLASH'EM
SLASH'EM replaces the zruty monster class with the zouthern animals for the z glyph, moving the zruty with the apelike creatures, and introduces new monsters that use the Z glyph:
