The hash mark # has a few purposes:
- Press [#] before entering an extended command.
- A # on the screen normally represents a dungeon corridor, but can also be a tree, cloud or sink.
- On the skill screen, # denotes a skill that cannot be #enhanced any further.
Note that "#" cannot be the first character of the name of any Wikihack article. This is why articles about extended commands such as #monpolycontrol omit the "#" from the article name.
