A knight:

In dNetHack, notdNetHack and notnotdNetHack, the knight, @, is significantly altered as a monster from its appearance in NetHack.
As with NetHack, the knight is a lawful human player monster corresponding to an Knight hero: they will have the role's appropriate rank title for their monster level, and they can reach level 30 like heroes can.
A knight has two weapon attacks, with the second attack using any offhand weapons they have available. Like Knight heroes and other 'knight' monsters, they will gain intrinsic speed at a minimum of level 7. They boast expert prowess in martial combat and have a full base attack bonus of +1.0 to-hit per monster level.
Generation
Knights are not generated randomly, and are normally created as peaceful towards neutral heroes before specific adjustments are made. They are only a valid form for doppelgangers to polymorph into, and can only be targeted for genocide if a Knight hero reads a scroll of genocide—such a hero reading a cursed scroll while confused will instead create several knight monsters adjacent to themselves. A page can grow up into a knight.
Knight corpses can generate in graveyards and within the Valley of the Dead. Knight statues can generate in cockatrice nests and on Medusa's Island. A Knight hero killed by HP damage from a cockatrice or chickatrice, or else killed by any form of stoning, will leave a named knight statue behind containing their inventory rather than a named ghost and named corpse if a bones file is created. Statues and figurines of knights cannot be wished for by any means.
Crystal skulls generated in the main dungeon or in the future (i.e. the Anachrononaut quest or Android quest) may contain a knight player monster within, with crystal skulls originating in the main dungeon having twice the usual chance of containing one.
A statue of a knight named Perseus is always generated in specific locations on each map of Medusa's Island, with a chance of finding special contents inside his statue—see his article for more information.
Live locations
The Drow Healer starts each game with a tame knight player monster as their companion, which is generated with intrinsic speed but subsequently has a slowing effect applied.
Knights can appear among the default pool of random prisoners (i.e. before ruler-specific rules are applied) that are kept in throne rooms, with twice the chance compared to other prisoners in that group—this is done to represent male and female player monsters with one entry each. They can also appear among the prisoners of the throne room on the Neutral Quest branch level and the Castle, and may also appear among the prisoners of any throne room ruled by any of the following monsters: an Uruk-captain, orc of the ages of stars, deepest one, Aurumach Rilmani, ogre king, vampire lady, vampire lord, Elvenking, or Elvenqueen—for all except the vampire lord and vampire lady, knights have twice the chance of appearing compared to other prisoners in those groups.
Knights can appear among the group of hostile player monsters that collectively constitute the second quest monster slot for Binders and make up 18⁄175 of the monsters randomly generated on the Binder quest.
A peaceful knight is generated in each of the four "watchtower" rooms on the Knight quest home level during level creation.
Hostile knights can appear among the various player monsters placed on the Astral Plane during level creation.

The knight that accompanies a Drow Healer at the start of a game is always generated with a different set of items from other knights: a food ration, 3 cram rations, a blessed +1 long sword, an amulet of nullify magic, a pair of high boots, chain mail, gauntlets, a kite shield, and a helmet.
Knights generated as prisoners in the Castle will have their normal inventory among their belongings that are placed in the chest near the throne.
Knights generated on the Astral Plane are subject to the same armor and weapon replacement odds as other player monsters.
