- Press m, then press a direction to move your character without doing any other actions such as attacking a monster or displacing a pet. Even if autopickup is on, using m causes you not to pick up anything. It will also stop you hitting invisible or remembered monsters, and will even stop you feeling items on the floor if blind. This will also prompt shopkeepers to get out of the way if they are blocking the door preventing you from leaving their shop (although they will not move if you owe them money).
- Press m, to pick up items off the floor using a menu, even if you're using menustyle:traditional.
