List of weapons

The club and the aklys both use the club skill. There are no artifacts that use the skill.

History

The club skill is introduced with many other weapon skills in NetHack 3.2.0.

Variants

Some NetHack variants give gnomish heroes an increased skill cap with clubs, due to their perceived affinity with the aklys.

SLASH'EM

SLASH'EM adds two new items that use the club skill: the baseball bat, which is a weapon, and the torch, which is a weapon-tool.

Two artifacts in SLASH'EM use the club skill, both of which are endgame-quality weapons:

  • Skullcrusher is a lawful artifact club that serves as the guaranteed first sacrifice gift for Cavepeople, and does a flat +10 damage to all monsters.
  • The Bat from Hell is a chaotic artifact baseball bat that serves as the guaranteed first for Rogues, and does a flat +20 damage against all monsters.

SporkHack

SporkHack adds Keolewa, an artifact club that acts as the first gift for Cavepeople, and it has a +1d5 bonus to-hit and a +1d6 bonus to damage versus all monsters and grants shock resistance while wielded.

dNetHack

dNetHack, notdNetHack and notnotdNetHack add several weapons that use the club skill:

NetHack Fourk

In NetHack Fourk, gnomish heroes have increased skill caps in clubs.

The Big Stick is a chaotic artifact club that replaces The Sceptre of Might as the Caveman quest artifact.

xNetHack

In xNetHack, the Big Stick replaces The Sceptre of Might as the Caveman quest artifact, similar to Fourk.

SpliceHack

SpliceHack adds the Bat from Hell as an artifact that uses the club skill.

EvilHack

EvilHack adds Keolewa from SporkHack, where it is the first gift for Cavepeople and has stronger to-hit and damage bonuses that are only applied to monsters without shock resistance—combining Keolewa with Giantslayer at a forge will create Harbinger, an artifact aklys that is new to the variant and also uses the club skill.

SlashTHEM

In addition to SLASH'EM details, SlashTHEM adds the metal club as a weapon that uses the club skill, and it deals the most damage among non-artifact clubs.

SlashTHEM also adds Petslayer, a chaotic artifact club that has +5 to-hit and deals +10 damage against domestic animals.

Hack'EM

Hack'EM adds Skullcrusher and the Bat from Hell from SLASH'EM as artifacts that use the club skill, along with Keolewa from earlier versions of EvilHack.
