Noble/SlashTHEM
In SlashTHEM, the Noble is a role available to the hero that is incorporated from the Noble role patch by ChrisANG, which is first implemented in dNetHack and its variants.
Nobles can be humans, doppelgangers, incantifiers, elves, drow, dwarves, hobbits, or vampires, and can start the game as any appropriate alignment.
Starting inventory
Each Noble starts with the following equipment:
- a +2 rapier
- a fancy shirt
- a +0 ruffled shirt for Noblemen; otherwise
- +0 victorian underwear
- a +1 pair of leather gloves
- a +1 leather cloak
- a random ring that is not one of levitation, aggravate monster, hunger, sleeping, or timely backup
- 10-20 apples
- 3-6 food rations
Any ring that is generated with an enchantment of +0 or lower is given a random enchantment from +1 to +3.
The following racial conditions also apply:
- Doppelganger Nobles will never start with a ring of polymorph control.
- Hobbit Nobles will never start with a ring of invisibility.
- Incantifier Nobles will have their food rations replaced with scrolls of food detection.
- Vampire Nobles will have their food rations replaced with potions of vampire blood.
Nobles start with knowledge of all non-magical armor, as well as any applicable racial equipment.
The Noble's default starting pet is a saddled pony.

Nobles notably do not gain any intrinsic properties from their roles.

- Neutral: Mother Earth
- Chaotic: the Satan
Quest
The Noble's quest sees them fight through a peasant revolt to defeating the Rebel Ringleader and their party for one of two artifact cloaks:
- The Mantle of Heaven, the quest artifact for all Nobles except vampires, is an artifact ornamental cope—it grants cold resistance while carried, and while worn it further grants shock resistance and half spell damage alongside a doubled AC bonus and the normal properties of the cloak that has its randomized appearance.
- The Vestment of Hell, the quest artifact for vampire Nobles, is an artifact opera cloak—it grants fire resistance while carried, and while worn it further grants acid resistance and half physical damage alongside a doubled AC bonus and the normal properties of the cloak that has its randomized appearance.
