In NetHack, the letter J serves the following purposes:
- j represents a jelly:
- J represents a jabberwock, the sole member of its monster class in vanilla NetHack; the vorpal jabberwock is an unused monster of the same class that still exists in the game code.
Variants
UnNetHack, GruntHack, SLASH'EM, EvilHack and SpliceHack implement the vorpal jabberwock, J, based on the unused monster in NetHack.
