Historical uses

In NetHack 3.4.3 and earlier versions, including some variants based on these versions, ` also represented statues. Starting in NetHack 3.6.0, statues of monsters instead use that monster's glyph.

Variants

Some variants based on NetHack 3.4.3 continue to use ` to represent statues.
